Lakewood Kicks the Summer Off with Golf Club Opening
Distinguished guests from all over Central Luzon and lot owners coming all the way from abroad flocked to Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija on February 26, 2005 to witness the most anticipated event in the history of Lakewood City, the grand launching of Lakewood Golf & Country Club.
Lakewood Golf & Country Club formally opened its gates with the blessing and grand opening of the Golf Club, introducing a new lifestyle to the people of Nueva Ecija-- a lifestyle of golf, leisure and luxury. Members and their guests can now enjoy playing at Lakewood’s championship golf course, dining amidst the view of the greens at the fully air-conditioned Golfers’ Lounge, freshening up after rounds at the fully air-conditioned locker and shower areas, and pampering themselves with a massage or Jacuzzi dip at the Spa. The Golf Club also offers banquet facilities for corporate meetings, seminars, and social gatherings.
Lakewood Golf & Country Club is the first to offer a world-class golf & leisure destination in Nueva Ecija with the highest class of amenities for business and pleasure.
As guests dressed up in Hawaiian attires arrive in the afternoon for the ribbon cutting ceremony and the blessing of the Golf Clubhouse, they were welcomed with garlands and warm Alohas. Assembling at the Golfers’ Lounge, they were greeted with welcome remarks from Lakewood Golf & Country Club General Manager Tommy Clemente, Landco Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Francis Ceballos and NE Land Company, Inc. (NELCI) and NE Group of Companies Chairman Leticia Uy. The blessing rites were officiated by Msgr. Mike Veneracion and Father Rene Villa, followed by the tossing of the blessed coins led by special guests PNP Deputy Director General & Mrs. Virtus Gil.
The tee off ceremony was another highlight of the event. Teeing off to grace the grand launch were top executives from property developer Sta. Lucia Realty & Development Inc., and landowners Landco Pacific Corporation & NE Properties Development Corporation. They were NELCI Director Owen Y. Lee, NE President Lito Uy, Landco COO Francis Ceballos, Sta. Lucia VP for Engineering and Golf Operations Wini Gob and Sta. Lucia EVP Vicente Santos.
Celebrating a momentous occasion in their community, lot owners had the opportunity to socialize over a buffet dinner feast served by Plaza Leticia. Cool Change provided live music with songs from the 60’s, 70’s and the 80’s. A showcase of local talents also provided entertainment as guests celebrated and danced the night away.
It was an unforgettable night culminated with a 30-minute glorious display of fireworks. And with the overflowing food, wine, and music was every guest’s and lot owners’ heart-warming pride and celebrated privilege to be a part of the Lakewood community.
